Frequently asked questions

How will I know that my reservation is confirmed?

Tour price guarantee: Our tour prices are subject to change without notice due to the unpredictability of currency rates and trip expenses (Fuels / Tolls / Parking fees...etc) . However, your price for the tour you've selected will be locked and guaranteed the moment we receive your deposit.

After you sent us a deposit (Usually 10% to 20% non Refundable / part of deposit is for our internet/ office work or reserve accommodation and vehicles), you will receive a confirmation e-mail, which will contain the details of your reservation after it is confirmed. After you have received the conformation e-mail that was sent to you, which contains the itinerary, your name and all the details regarding your reservation, and your balance, print  the email and keep it with you as it may be requested by your driver.

Is it possible to select  a tour or a destination that is not listed on your website?

Certainly. Our website only contains suggestions. We can combine sites or we can reduce the schedule if you have limited time.  We provide private tours all around the mainland of Greece with fixed and flexible schedules per your request... Simply send us an e-mail containing the tour or destination you are interested in and we will contact you as soon as possible with information regarding the cost and details

What is the difference between a licensed tour/guide and a tour/driver?

Our drivers are licensed drivers who are well informed about the sites and where wıll take you. Licensed drivers however, cannot guide you inside archaeological sites or museums. Only licensed archaeological tour guides, who are accredited with the Ministry of Culture, can provide a fully-guided sightseeing experience inside archaeological sites and museums. This is an extra service. If you want a licensed tour guide for a certain museum or archaeological site in Greece, we can arrange one for you or you can make your own arrangements http://www.tourist-guides.gr/

What do the rates include and what do they not?

Rates include all local taxes, VAT, road tolls, Ferry tickets (where needed), Train tickets (where needed) and baggage charges.
Not included: Entrance fees: Archaeological sites, Museums, Caves, Castles or drinks, meals, accommodation (except if there is prior agreement) and/or gratuities.
Prices are per vehicle and not per person
Our drivers are seasoned travelers and are dedicated to helping you. However your driver is not permitted to guide you in archaeological sites and museums, only licensed tour/ guides from the ministry of culture are allowed to do so. Should you require such an extra service, we can book a licensed tourguide for you.

Gratuities in Greece

As the competition between companies and drivers is high, our offers cover our main costs (Fuels, road tolls, accommodation, taxes...etc). Tips in Greece, as all over Europe, are optional. However, a tip as a gesture of gratitude for good services offered is always appreciated. There is no standard amount, but depending on the trip's total cost, this can range between 10% to 20%. for daily tours or 5% to 10% for long tours

Can I visit several sites in one day?

Greece is surrounded by water, but the mainland is full of mountains. Greece has very few valleys. Even if the distances between cities look near on the map, they will take a long time to approach. Also keep in mind the weather conditions up on the mountains.
We try to include as many schedules as possible on our website, to different destinations all around the mainland of Greece. However these schedules can be affected by weather conditions or day light save hours. (End October - End March)
Our website is not just designed to accommodate clients. We have tried to include as much useful and practical information about Greece as possible to assist you in your planning. Please look through our site and do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or comments. We are happy to help all visitors to Greece regardless of whether you use our services or not. We are thinking of visiting Greece on a cruise ship and not carry our luggage every other day.

Cruise ships usually have good deals and the idea that you do not have to carry your luggage wherever you go is attractive. However, most of the time you will be at sea, and you will not have the chance to see the inner mainland or spend a night in a village up on the mountains or on the coast. Whichever place you visit, you will queue with hundreds of other passengers and the time you will have to visit the area is limited. For every excursion you would like to participate in will come at an extra cost. Our point is, you can make a request and we will help you carry your luggage, as a  part of our service, at no extra cost.

Do I Need Travel Insurance?

Travel insurance can minimize the considerable financial risks of traveling: accidents, illness, emergency evacuation, and getting your body home if you die.

Companies such as Travelex and Travel Guard offer comprehensive packages that serve as your primary coverage; they'll take care of your expenses regardless of what other insurance you might have (for instance, if you have health insurance through your job). That means they pay first and don't ask questions about your other insurance. This can be a real plus if you want to avoid out-of-pocket expenses.

Insurance prices can vary widely, with most packages costing between 5 and 12 percent of the total trip. Age is one of the biggest factors affecting the price: Rates go up dramatically for every decade over 50, while coverage is generally inexpensive or even free for children 17 and under.

I like your photos, your scripts/texts. Can I copy/paste on my own website/magazine?

Thank you for visiting our site GreeceTaxi, a unique Web photo site. Although we have greatly enjoyed travelling around Greece, checking out places, taking photos and writing our articles, as we are sure you can appreciate, it was at great expense and also time consuming. We continue to develop the site updating and adding new information constantly. There are 2 websites ATHENSDAYTOURS.GR and OLIVESEA.GR by the same owner "Vassilis Vlachos", who stole our Title and our Photos ( I will not exaggerate if I will say  more than 500 Photos)...
